Check out this old dinner plate
While making like a "tunnel rat" under the house, I stumbled onto this old dinner plate. The glaze is old and crackled. On the back is a manufacturers stamp that says "PEARL WHITE" , "GOODWIN BROS.". In the center is a logo that seems to be a Pegasus horse in a circle surrounded by some kind of crosses/clovers?

This was kind of cool. It is a smaller than normal plate. Like a child's plate. It clearly got under the house before the rear bath was put on and enclosed the back foundation. The space between the floor joists and dirt was about 4 inches. This tells me the plate was thrown under the house about 80 to 100 years ago. Maybe some kid around 1910 was sitting on the back stoop between the kitchen and family room eating his dinner.

When he was done he simply slung the plate under the house and ran off to play. If you have any clue about this dinner wear manufacturer, please write me here. I did find a reference on the Internet about a wash basin with this logo on it dated to 1844. That doesn't mean this plate is that old, just the company may have been in existence then.
