Hatching Guinea Hens in the TV Room

Our home made incubator made from a real thick Styrofoam cooler and construction flood light. It actually worked really well. Our luck with the eggs was not so good. We tried to hatch dozens of eggs found around the property but most never developed.

Our first success busting out of it's shell. The green dot on the side of the egg was a marker to let us know what batch of eggs this one was from.

Here he is resting and drying out under the light. It sometimes takes many hours to peck out of the shell. There would be one more out of this batch that would hatch within the hour.

Here they are the next day in a separate box with it's own light.

When ever there was one of us poking our nose in the box, they would run and hide behind the water bottle. The marbles in the water were to prevent these beautiful yet dumb as a stump animals from nose diving in and drowning.
